From the Bible’s last fleeting reference to Titus, we learn that probably in about 65 C.E., Paul sent him to Dalmatia, a mountainous country on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea in present-day Croatia (2 Timothy 4:10).

Croatia today is a land of many wonders – layers upon layers of history, extraordinary natural beauty, and hundreds of breathtaking attractions. Discover Croatia’s extraordinary past – from Greek and Roman colonies to imperial palaces, medieval fortresses, and Venetian Renaissance towns.

Our tour to Dalmatia, the very south part of Croatia, will help you to return to the origins of Christianity, learn more about the early Christians and appreciate our rich spiritual heritage.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1 (ZAGREB) – Tuesday

• Zagreb airport arrivals during the day
• Upon arrival in Zagreb, you will be met at the airport by your tour leader and transferred to the hotel
• Check into hotel
• Free time
• Dinner (not included)
• Overnight: Zagreb

DAY 2 (ZAGREB) – Wednesday

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Walking tour of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia – Zagreb walking tour includes all the important monuments and sights in the center of Zagreb. We will see the two oldest parts of the city, Kaptol and Gradec, the site of the cathedral and Dolac – the most famous old traditional market called the ‘’belly of Zagreb’’
• At evening we enjoy traditional Croatian dinner
• Overnight: Zagreb

DAY 3 (PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK TOUR) – Thursday

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Checking out
• Tour starts with a morning departure from Zagreb to the National Park Plitvice Lakes – the jewel of Croatia. Plitvice Lakes are considered one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world. There are sixteen blue-green lakes, connected by 92 waterfalls, all embraced in a beautiful greenery of the forests and meadows.
• After the tour of Plitvice Lakes, we head for Zadar
• Checking in the hotel late afternoon

• Overnight: Zadar

DAY 4 (ZADAR) – Friday

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Walking tour of Zadar – a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. Zadar is a city monument, surrounded by historical ramparts, a treasury of archaeological and monumental riches, and many contemporary architectural achievements such as the first sea organs in the world
• Dinner (included)
• Overnight: Zadar

DAY 5 (ŠIBENIK – TROGIR – SPLIT) – Saturday

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Checking out
• Tour starts with a morning departure from Zadar to Šibenik, the oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic, located in the most protected natural harbor, at the sources of Croatia’s rich history
• After the tour of Šibenik we head for Trogir (as some call it “The Stone Beauty”) – walking through the streets of Trogir is like travelling to the time of Grecians, Romans, and Venetians.
• After the tour of Trogir we head for Split
• Checking in the hotel late afternoon
• Dinner (included)
• Overnight: Split/Solin

DAY 6 (SPLIT) – Sunday

• Breakfast in the hotel
• SOLIN (SALONA) TOUR (Morning) – Solin (Salona) was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Today it is the largest archaeological park in Croatia.  The remains of the ancient town are very well preserved and are evidence of life from the 2nd century B.C. The old city center, the walls and the forts, the monumental amphitheater, the thermal baths, and the sanctuaries all represent a picture of a really ancient town and of life before Jesus Christ.
• SPLIT TOUR (Afternoon) – The story of Split is dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city Salona. Diocletian Palace is one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments and the entire historical core of Split have been on the World Heritage UNESCO list
• Dinner (included)
• Overnight: Split/Solin

DAY 7 (SPLIT-DUBROVNIK) – Monday

• Breakfast in the hotel
• Checking out
• Tour starts with a morning departure from Split to Dubrovnik. After four hours drive, we reach Dubrovnik, one of the world’s most stunning destinations. The city has often been referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” and was inducted into the UNESCO World Heritage List
• Checking in the hotel late in the afternoon
• Dinner (included)
• Overnight: Dubrovnik

DAY 8 (DUBROVNIK) – Tuesday

• Breakfast in the hotel
• DUBROVNIK TOUR (morning) – we start in the Old Town with a classic walking tour, seeing all the main sights before continuing to the top of Srdj hill with the cable car. Resting high above the Old Town, this is the ideal spot for a spectacular panorama view of the town and surrounding islands.
• Afternoon: Free time
• Farewell dinner (included)
• Overnight: Dubrovnik

DAY 9 – (DUBROVNIK)

• Breakfast at the hotel and departures.
• Hotel to airport transfers are included and will be coordinated based on flight times
• End of tour

All prices herein are per person and are subject to change without notice. 'Full Package' prices are especially subject to change due to the fluctuation in airfare. For Instance: Travelers can expect to pay additional airfare for summer tour dates if their tour includes New York. We will notify you three months, or less, before your departure of any additional fees. *Should the prices noted herein differ from that shown when booking your tour, the price you select on checkout will be the one that is validated.

Regarding Land Package Pricing:

Land Package prices signify that…
BCT will provide your transportation during the tour but you will be required to arrange your own transportation (be that airfare or train or car) at the beginning and after the tour.

Unless the arrival and departure hotels provide complimentary hotel/airport shuttle service Land Package travelers will need to arrange their own airport/hotel transportation. For Instance: On most NY trips the BCT-provided arrival/departure hotel(s) may provide complimentary hotel/airport shuttle service. However on many of BCT’s international trips arrival and departure hotels may not.

BCT is not responsible for any cost associated with the cost of your transportation (be that airfare or train or car) at the beginning and after the tour. Including penalties, fees, and/or rebooking costs when a trip is canceled or moved.
